Angel Falls – Canaima or Salto Angel – Canaima is one of the iconic landscapes of Venezuela, located in the south of Venezuela in an area known as «El Maziso Guayanes». Angel Falls is the «Tepuy» with the highest waterfall in the world.

Carlos Apitz visited this place in 1985 and remembers the visual impact it had on him. He painted this landscape using the typical colors of his country in a version that reflected his vision.

I have always liked going to the beaches of Miami Beach, the color of the sea and the sky and the colorful lifeguard houses with very striking designs have always been something striking about the place that has always attracted me. I wanted to mix a little impressionism with pop art, capturing the colors of the moment in quick strokes with one of the typical lifeguard houses.
